MCS Graphing Calculator Classroom Policy

A graphing calculator is an essential tool for this class. Margaretville Central School has graphing calculators available for student use if a student and his/her family would prefer not to purchase a graphing calculator. If you prefer to borrow a graphing calculator from MCS, please read the borrowing information below and sign indicating that you agree to the terms of the policy.

Margaretville Central School has TI-83, TI-83+ and TI-84+ graphing calculators available for students to borrow for required courses. These graphing calculators are expensive, $89-$125 and YOU are responsible for the care of the calculator throughout the school year. If a student fails to return a graphing calculator at the end of the school year, the calculator does not work, or there is damage to the calculator , then the student is responsible for either (a) replacing the calculator with another NEW calculator of the same model or (b) providing the school district with the appropriate monetary amount to replace the calculator with the same model.

Students that borrow graphing calculators are responsible for providing the required batteries, throughout the school year, to keep the calculator working. Students MUST turn calculators in with working batteries at the end of the school year.
