MCS Internet policy

Internet use is a privilege granted to students at M.C.S. Parents not wishing their children to use the internet must notify the school in writing. If a student fails to follow the school’s acceptable use policy the school may revoke that student’s Internet use privilege.

A copy of the complete Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) is available to students and parents in the main office and the school library. The AUP is summarized below:

All rules in the school’s Code of Conduct are in effect when using the Internet. Also, all laws governing students at M.C.S., including copyright laws, are in effect when using the Internet.

Internet access is provided to students for educational purposes only. Students are not allowed to use Instant Messaging or Chat Rooms. E-mail is allowed for educational purposes. Accessing or downloading illegal or immoral material is strictly prohibited. Vandalism, including computer viruses, is prohibited, as is use of the Internet for commercial or financial gain. Plagiarism, or copying information from the Internet and representing it as your own, is strictly prohibited.

Students are expected to be polite and respectful when using the Internet. Students should not reveal personal information over the Internet. The school provides Internet filtering, and any attempt to disable or circumvent this is prohibited.
