Please note two changes have been made to the original school calendar. Margaretville Central School will hold a professional development conference day on Friday, April 14, 2017 (Good Friday) for all faculty and staff members. Students will NOT attend school on Friday, April 14th. Students will attend a full day of school on Friday, May 12, 2017 as the previously scheduled professional development conference day in May has been eliminated. Therefore, Friday, May 12th will be a full day of instruction for our children. Please read Superintendent Dr. Chakar's letter addressing the most recent school calendar change.

The National Technical Honor Society held their annual induction ceremony on March 22nd at NCOC.  Along with many other new inductees from surrounding schools, four Margaretville Central School Students pledged their membership.  A special congratulations to our students and their families:  Beth-Ann Farrell, Kaylee Sanford, Anna Lam and Zoey Antonette.  (Photographed left to right: Beth-Ann Farrell, Kaylee Sanford, Anna Lam)  National Technical Honor Society members must have maintained a cumulative Career and Technical Center average of 90% or above, a component school average of 80% or above, and have a record of excellent attendance. [ for more]

Margaretville Central School will be having our annual UPK and Kindergarten Registration on March 8th and 9th. Children living in the Margaretville Central School District who will be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2017 may enroll in our Kindergarten program for the fall of 2017. Children must be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2017 to register for our full day UPK program. All eligible children must be registered prior to the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. Prior to attending the registration date, parents are to complete the registration packet which is due by March 3rd. You may find the Registration Packet here on our website or by contacting the Guidance Secretary. Note that students will be chosen during a lottery selection process and only completed applications will be considered. On February 27-28 Victoria Janis competed at Bristol Mountain in the Annual NYPHSAA Championship. Vicki is a 10th grader at Margaretville Central School. Announcement:  On Wednesday, February 15, 2017, one of our buses (the Squirrel Bus) was involved in a one car motor vehicle accident.  Both drivers and all students who were involved in the accident were evaluated by the ambulance paramedic team that arrived on the scene of the accident and are all doing fine.  All of our students were again assessed by our school nurse once they had arrived at school. No injuries were reported. Please read Superintendent Dr. Chakar's letter for further information.  If you have any questions, please contact the Transportation Supervisor or the Superintendent.
