The Margaretville Central School District (NY) Board of Education is seeking an educational leader with a strong record of accomplishments as an administrator and teacher.

The Board and stakeholders have identified the following as the most desirable traits, skills, and characteristics for the next Superintendent:

The Board and stakeholders have identified the following as priorities for the next Superintendent:
  Challenges presented by declining enrollment
  Long-term capital needs
  Continue to develop strong academic (college and career), extracurricular, and social-emotional opportunities/programs for students
  Build an effective Board and Superintendent governance team
  Attract and retain a strong workforce
  Develop collaborative relationships with parents, staff and the community

The Margaretville CSD is located in the Catskill mountains, between Kingston and Oneonta on the Route 28 corridor. The District is comprised of a single PK-12 school with a current enrollment of 344 students. Recently, the District began implementing AP courses with a five-year goal of providing students access to the Capstone Diploma. A summer enrichment program allows students in grades 5-12 to complete hands-on learning experiences with interest-based topics including: crochet, macrame, cooking, environmental science, music, drama, fitness, and hiking. Students participate in a variety of arts programming, extracurricular activities, and interscholastic sports. With a high school graduation rate that is consistently 90% or higher, Margaretville has earned a “bronze” rating from US News and World Reports for excellent schools with similar demographics. The region provides a wide array of cultural and recreational opportunities.

Salary: Regionally competitive depending on experience and qualifications
