Dear MCS Family,
The School Counseling Department would like you to know that we are here to support you and your children as best as we can during this difficult time. Both school counselors are available through email which is monitored Monday-Friday, between 8am - 3pm. Below are both counselors direct emails:
Mrs. Millen (PK - 7th Grade) - [email protected]
Mrs. Triebe (8th Grade - 12th Grade) - [email protected]
For students grades 8 - 12, please know that Mrs. Triebe will be emailing you individually over the next few weeks about scheduling courses for next year. She will also be sharing updates on SAT/ACT testing with juniors, as well as helping assist with any last minute college requirements for seniors.
Some key recommendations from your counselors:
Try and keep routines as normal as possible; children gain security from the predictability of routine.
Limit exposure to television and the news.
Be honest with children and share as much information as they are developmentally able to handle.
Listen and acknowledge your child’s fears and concerns.
In the event of a mental health emergency, families may contact MCAT (Mobile Crisis Assessment Team) at 844-732-6228. MCAT is available to anyone seeking crisis intervention services for both children and adults in Delaware County. Services are available 24/7 and provide mental health assessments, crisis de-escalation, debriefing, linkage and follow-up to crisis intervention and help monitoring clients who are at-risk.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to either of us.
Be well,
MCS School Counselors
