Education is one of the greatest investments a community makes in the life of a child. The school counselors at Margaretville Central School take great pride in playing a supportive role in empowering young people to build a healthy and rewarding life. Our goal is to partner with students and parents in order to discover the best opportunities for each individual.

As students embark on the next phase of life, we strive to provide students with a range of options in order to find the ‘right fit’ and we endeavor to facilitate the opening of those doors.

The purpose of the school guidance plan is to align the Margaretville Central School District’s school counseling program with (1) the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) standards; and with (2) the school’s mission to support the academic achievement of all students as they prepare for the ever-changing world of the 21st century. In addition to academic achievement, we seek to promote a strong sense of self-respect and self-esteem, to develop the confidence, discipline and motivation of every individual, and to engage each student in critical but balanced self-evaluation.
