Code of Conduct

Margaretville Central School has developed a Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures pursuant to State and Federal Law.  This information is given to students in the Student Handbook.  Please note the Dress Code and other matters that could result in disciplinary action.  Parents and guardians should review this policy with their child(ren).  

Student Attendance

Regular School Attendance is a necessary requirement in the learning process.  Credit for completion of all courses will be based, in part, on classroom attendance.  Please see full version of the Updated Board of Education Policy.  You can also obtain a copy from the Main Office.

Emergency Days/Early Dismissal/School Closing

When school or a school activity is delayed or canceled due to inclement weather, road conditions or other emergencies, parents will be notified.  We will communicate to all UPK-12th grade parents via our automatic announcement system.  Announcements will also be made on the following radio stations:  WGY (810 AM), WDLA (1270 AM and 92.1 FM), WBNG (TV Channel 12) and WKXZ (94 AM).  Announcements pertaining to evening activities will be made as early as possible.  When we are on a two-hour delay, add two-hours to bus arrival pick-up time.  In the event of an emergency, during the school day, we will communicate to all UPK-12 parents via our automatic announcement system.

Lockdown/Lockout Procedures

Throughout the school year, we will continue to practice lockdown/lockout, shelter in place and evacuation procedures for the safety of your child.  In the event of an emergency, parents will be notified in a timely matter.  Copies of the District School Safety Plan may be obtained in the District Office.
