Transportation

Margaretville Central School committed to the safety and safe transportation of all students, and is proud of the safety record of our school buses and the professionalism of our transportation team.

We ask families to help us ensure student safety by following these simple but important procedures:

  • Be on time: arrive five minutes early to your bus stop. Students who are late for the bus should not chase it. Never run to or from the bus.

  • Insist that your student wait for the bus safely in an orderly fashion, back from the road. Don't push or shove.

  • Students should wait for the driver's signal before crossing, and should always cross at least 10 feet in front of the bus.

  • Stay in your seat, facing forward and sitting quietly. Behavior problems could distract the bus driver. It's important that our drivers are able to concentrate on driving the route safely.

If you have questions or concerns about bus stops, bus procedures, or bus rides, contact head bus driver Beth Smith at (845) 586-4161.
