Margaretville Central School proudly welcomed new members into the National Honor Society (NHS) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) during an induction ceremony held on June 11, 2026. Students, families, faculty, staff, and community members gathered to recognize the accomplishments of students who have demonstrated excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

Membership in NHS and NJHS is among the highest honors a student can achieve. Selection is based not only on academic achievement, but also on the qualities of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. These students have distinguished themselves through their dedication to learning, commitment to helping others, integrity in their actions, and positive contributions to the school and community.

During the ceremony, current members reflected on the meaning of the five pillars that guide the organizations. Students were recognized for their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Families were also acknowledged for the encouragement and support they provide throughout each student's educational journey.

The induction ceremony served as both a celebration of accomplishments and a reminder of the responsibility that comes with membership. Inductees pledged to uphold the values of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship and to continue serving as role models within the school community.

A special recognition was also given to graduating seniors who are members of the National Honor Society. As part of the ceremony, seniors received their honor cords, which they will proudly wear during commencement exercises. The cords serve as a symbol of their dedication to scholarship, leadership, service, and character throughout their high school careers.

Margaretville Central School congratulates all newly inducted members of the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society. We are proud of their achievements and look forward to the positive impact they will continue to make in our school and beyond.

Following the ceremony, inductees gathered for a commemorative group photograph before joining family members and guests for refreshments and celebration.
