Today marks an exciting milestone for the Margaretville Central School District as we officially accepted delivery of our new electric school bus, made possible through nearly $500,000 in New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) grant funding for the bus and charging infrastructure.
This opportunity began when former Head Bus Driver, Beth Smith, encouraged the district to pursue the grant opportunity. With the support of the Board of Education, partnership with Leonard Bus Sales, and approval from our voters, that vision became a reality today.
Special thanks to everyone who helped make this happen, including Board President Doris Warner and Board Member Kent Brown, who were on hand to welcome the bus upon delivery.
This is a great example of innovation, collaboration, and forward thinking for our students and community!
