The annual Senior Citizen dinner/dance was on April 29th with a record number of attendees. Carol Norwick organized a Luau theme this year. Greg Passarelli was the DJ. Student volunteers served food and danced along with the attendees. A great time was has by all

Earlier this week, 10th and 11th grade students visited Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Science, and Maria College! Students were exposed to health science courses, and what equipment they would encounter! Students also explored the campuses, admissions process, how to plan for the cost of college, and what to expect living on campus!

Students were exposed to 3D print models of fetal and adult skeletons used by health science students at Maria College

Students explored virtual reality equipment that health science students use to practice working with patients, such as nursery hospital settings.

Students explored the mock hallway and rooms that nursing students practice in at Maria College.

The girls softball modified game today has been cancelled due to weather/field conditions!

Last night members of the our Board of Education and Superintendent Osterhoudt accompanied Doris Warner to the Annual Awards and Friends of Education Celebration at the Duo at the Dunes in Albany. The awards were hosted by The Capital Area School Development Association in partnership with The School of Education at Albany University. President Warner was honored for her Excellence in School Board Service. Earlier this year she was recognized by The New York State School Boards Association along with board members Matt Steen and Marc Osterweil. Doris is a thoughtful and steady leader whose commitment to students and public education is evident. She leads with integrity, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility to the community she serves! Congratulations, President Warner!

Learning That Sticks… and Crunches! 🥒 Our 7th grade Home & Careers students had a dill-lightful time yesterday making homemade refrigerator pickles in Ms. Laurel Becker’s class! They enjoyed the experience so much that they were even sipping the brine through the dill stems, which had Ms. Becker absolutely chuckling. It’s safe to say this lesson was a hit! Beyond the fun, this hands-on activity gave students the opportunity to: * Practice essential knife skills * Learn about growing their own food * Explore ways to support local farmers * Get a flavorful introduction to food preservation Moments like these remind us that some of the best learning happens when students are engaged, curious, and having a little fun along the way. Thank you to Ms. Becker for creating such meaningful and memorable experiences for our students!
