Today during their walk-through, Superintendent Osterhoudt and Administrator Jeremey Marks got a sneak peek at students’ sneaker projects. The sneaker projects are part of our new comprehensive STEM curriculum. Be sure to save the date to attend our first annual STEAM Showcase! Where: MCS old gym When: January 31st 6-8 PM Q: What is STEM and STEAM? A: STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. MCS has invested in STEM curriculum and we partner with our arts and humanities teachers as a part of making sure our students get the most out of their experiences at MCS!

All Pre-K thru grade 5 participated in Hot Cocoa and a Card day earlier this week, hosted by Ms. Eisenbeil with many helpers. Over 100 holiday cards were made for the residents at Mountainside Nursing home and accepted by their Director, Donna Rossman. Students not only helped to warm the heart of those residents, but also the heart of the Grinch! By the end of the day, the Grinch's heart was exploding with love. Way to go Margaretville elementary students!!
Also, a big thank you to Mrs. DiBenedetto and her art students for putting together all the card materials and of course, the Grinch.

Lots of drumming, scarf-dancing, bean-bag tossing, freeze-dancing fun in music classes this week, but nothing compares to the parachute. Varisty Chorus Concert Party was legendary, as they were the only ones who could figure out how to get it to hover against the ceiling 🤩

There was a quite a bit of Holiday Cheer at MCS today ♥️

The 6th grade students were so excited and enjoyed reading about life and school in Brazil.

Come out and support our boys' basketball teams as they take on S.S Seward. Let's go Blue Devils! #MCS #GAMEDAY

Good afternoon. Please be advised that tonight, 12/20 BJV and BV basketball game against Morris is POSTPONED.
Please note that we have decided to dismiss school at 11:30 today and cancel afterschool acivities. This decision was made to err on the side of caution. While we know that the rain should be tapering off this afternoon, we had an addtional concern when we briefly lost power this morning.
Ms. Kelder's 6th grade library students working on their 21stCenturyEd "Design My Sneaker" project and competition being held at the STEAM Showcase next month.

All students and staff are invited to participate
in the MCS Holiday Spirit Week 12/18-12/21

CUP STACK! STUDENTS enjoyed a fun STEM activity that involved teamwork and collaboration. It was challenging, but our 3rd grade worked hard and all succeeded. The activity worked on creativity, leadership, developing confidence and communicating. Well done! #MCS #STEAM

SNOW DAY❄️
Margaretville Central School is now closed, today Monday, December 11th.

Margaretville is on a 2 hour delay this morning due to the storm. Be safe, everyone!

Kindergarten enjoyed a field trip up to MTC to help decorate a Christmas tree! Students made candy canes, snowflakes, and other ornaments to hang on the tree. We would like to thank MTC for inviting us up and we look forward to more trips throughout the community this year!

Students enjoyed a fun activity building their own gingerbread houses. Happy Friday! #STEM #STEAM

Today's BJV and BV game vs SS Seward has been postponed tonight (12/8) and is rescheduled for Thursday, 12/21 at Margaretville.
On their walkthrough today, Executive Principal Lenny Giardino and Superintendent Michelle Osterhoudt popped in while School Counselor Nancy Millen met with 6th graders to discuss good work habits, what credit bearing courses have to do with graduation, and how to stay on top of their own grades by frequently checking School Tool. Good stuff happening at MCS!
