Mrs. Pacheco's 2nd grade has some eggciting things happening. We have been studying the life cycle of a chicken and this week 3 eggs hatched. We got to see the eggs hatching and have enjoyed watching every step of the process.

Dear MCS Community, We continue to work towards establishing a NYS PTSA at Margaretville Central School. The next step in the process is for the Bylaws Committee to create draft bylaws which will be presented for acceptance at the charter meeting. Most of the bylaws are prescribed by the NYS PTA organization. PTAs throughout New York have similar bylaws which outline things like officer duties and recordkeeping. However, there are a few items on which the MCS unit is offered options. The committee wants to be sure the choices made reflect the opinion of the entire MCS community. Therefore, we have created a questionnaire to gather your thoughts. It can be found here. Once we have gathered the information, the committee will meet and enter the chosen options into the Bylaws Wizard, which will create the draft document to be presented at the charter meeting. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and we look forward to seeing you at future MCS PTSA meetings and events. With thanks, The Bylaws Committee Doris Warner Amanda Wells Michelle Osterhoudt

Ms. Kim Smith’s 5th-grade class has been busy with a hands-on science project—hatching baby chicks! The students incubated 18 eggs and successfully welcomed 10 fluffy new arrivals into the world. This incredible learning experience was made possible by egg donations from Mrs. Balcom and Mrs. Beth Smith. The class studied the life cycle of a chick, learned how to care for them, and ensured they stayed healthy and growing. The first chick to hatch was affectionately named Shaboozy, while Rocky was the last to make an entrance. Some chicks even have three names thanks to the creative minds in the class! Great job, 5th graders, on this egg-citing adventure!
