Earlier this week, MCS students in grades 7–12 took part in a Combat Hate digital media literacy workshop presented by the Mobile Museum of Tolerance. We were excited to bring this meaningful experience to our campus.

During the workshop, students learned how hate and misinformation can appear online, explored the impact digital content can have on individuals and communities, and discussed ways to respond thoughtfully and responsibly. The sessions encouraged critical thinking, reflection, and positive choices both online and in everyday interactions.

We’re thankful to the Mobile Museum of Tolerance for partnering with our counseling department to create this opportunity, and proud of our students for their openness, engagement, and willingness to learn what it means to be responsible digital citizens!

Read from a student's perspective what makes our school so special! Last month marked the anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act or IDEA. Superintendent Osterhoudt sat down with student Max Pascarella to discuss the impact IDEA has had on his learning experience. 📖 Read the co authored article below! https://www.aasa.org/resources/aasa-blog/belonging-by-design-a-conversation-with-max-on-the-promise-of-idea

Our monthly Morning Program, hosted by Kindergarten teacher Ms. Roberts and our dedicated PK-2 Teachers, is one of the many things that makes MCS so special for families of our youngest students. It's so nice to gather each month to celebrate students' achievements, birthdays, and presentations, and to have time for parents to connect with students and staff in such a positive way. Thank you teachers for providing this opportunity and helping our students gain confidence in presenting, sharing our successes with families, and creating the chance for families to feel connected at school each month.
